Amber Gill has finally announced her first career move since winning Love Island in July.
The 22 year old was crowned champion of the hit ITV2 dating show alongside Greg O’Shea — who she recently split from.
Since keeping relatively quiet following her victory, Amber has now been unveiled as a brand ambassador for clothing brand Miss Pap in a deal reported to be worth £1million.
Amber follows in the footsteps of Ex On The Beach star Megan McKenna, The Only Way Is Essex’s Ferne McCann and Love Island’s Olivia Buckland, who have all previously released collections with the brand.
She shared the exciting news with her 2.9million Instagram followers by posting a short video of herself posing in the items she helped design.
Amber excitedly told her fans: “Oh hey it’s just me your NEW MISSPAP babe…I honestly cannot believe it!! Soooo excited to be a part of the fresh Miss Pap brand.
“It’s been a long anticipated announcement by me and I’ve been dying to tell you all. However I wanted to take my time in the design process so my collection is perfect, embodies my style and more importantly is inclusive for girls of all shapes and sizes.
“I cannot wait for you to see what I’ve been working on you know it’s going to be GOOOD [sic].”
The brand has revealed Amber’s “six month exclusive deal will kick off with the launch of Amber’s first ever clothing collection due to launch in October.”
Amber added to the statement: “I am so happy to be joining the new MissPap family and to be a part of the fresh MissPap brand.
“Since leaving Love Island everyone has been waiting for me to announce my clothing collection but I wanted to take my time in the design process to make sure everything is perfect for girls of all shapes and sizes, but also ensure it embodies my fashion sense, fun, sexy and easy.
“My collections will feature a range of going out, gym and loungewear mixed with essential day time bits too.”
The announcement comes days after she hit back at critics who questioned her success after her fellow islanders have gone on to announce their new career moves, with many of them signing deals with clothing brands.
One fan picked up on Amber’s former cast mates’ successes, taking to Twitter to write: “Maura joining boohoo, Ovie joining ASOS and Molly Mae having her own collection with PLT. What is Amber doing please? [sic]“
Amber retweeted the tweet to her 175,000 followers, adding: “Sis please don’t tell me you think I’m out here doing nothing? I always do the most Be patient!”
She also shared another tweet that read: “People loved Amber on #LoveIsland because she spoke her mind, stood up for herself, didn’t play by anybody’s rules & was always her own person.
“Now that she’s out of the villa those same fans are harassing her cause she isn’t following the playbook of all the other Islanders???”
Maura Higgins announced earlier this month that she had joined the boohoo family, revealing that she has become a brand ambassador for the site alongside fellow islander India Reynolds.
Meanwhile, Ovie Soko has become a brand ambassador for ASOS alongside his dad, Raymond.
Molly-Mae Hague has designed her own collection for PrettyLittleThing, but was forced to deny that she had “faked” her inclusion in the designing process, when fans noticed similar items from her range had already been available to buy from the site.
It was believed that Amber would be participating in the next series of Dancing On Ice, following in the footsteps of former Love Island stars Kem Cetinay and Wes Nelson, who both went on to reach the final of the dance show.
A source told The Sun Online last month: “Love Island contestants always do really well on the series as they are still fresh in everyone’s minds.
“Amber is a stunning girl and they know she’ll look fabulous in all the sequinned costumes. She has a gutsy personality, too, so will make excellent viewing.”
However, it was reported that she had been axed from the line-up, and replaced by her former co-star Maura.
A second insider told the publication: “Dancing On Ice producers were always going to sign a Love Island star for next year’s series and they wanted a girl this time after having two guys in the past.
“It was looking hopeful for Amber but Maura pipped her to the post with her sense of humour and personality.
“Maura is hoping Curtis [Pritchard] can now teach her more moves, even though she will be on the ice.”
However, a source told OK! online: “At no point has Amber been booked or replaced on Dancing on Ice.”
