If Britain Can Do It, Maybe We Can Too

The sight of conservative British lawmakers standing up to PM Boris Johnson gives Stephen Colbert hope that Republican lawmakers in the U.S. may one day summon the courage to stand up to their party’s leader. #Monologue #Colbert #Brexit

  1. The British Prime Minister is not the head of state, but the head of government. The monarch is the head of state; so the first British female head of state was (arguably) Queen Anne in 1707, following the acts of Union.

  2. It's kinda worrying how much Colbert lies about politics, because he knows his audience won't factcheck it. Teresa May's deal was rejected by 65% of all MPs. Only 30% of MPs voted for Brexit. Yet Colbert describes this as being BECAUSE of Brexit hardliners. The reality is that it was most rejected because of Remain MPs. That's not speculation, it's just a fact.

  3. Really hope for a no deal brexit. This would give Poland an opportunity to take its rightful place as the ruler of Europe and, ultimately, the world amidst the chaos caused by the brexit.
