It’s one of the favourite challenges of the Love Island series, when contestants swap sunbathing for soothing a pretend baby.
And, Love Island fans are already demanding for the shows bosses to give the islanders the wake up call of their lives by turning the living room into a nursery and get the baby dolls in.
The task, which sees islanders take on parental duties in their couples by having to look after a baby doll, has given us some gems in previous series with Dr Alex dropping his baby in series four, and Chris Hughes, 26, and 28 year old Olivia Attwood’s baby, Cash Hughes becoming so popular, it got its own Twitter account in series three.
But when exactly can we expect the greatly anticipated challenge to take place in this series?
Although producers haven’t confirmed if the challenge will take place this year, it usually occurs during the final week of the series, meaning we can expect the babies to make a comeback any day now.
We can’t wait to see how this year’s couples will handle the task. And, we’re not the only ones. Fans of the show have been calling for the task on Twitter.
“The baby challenge must be coming soon and I AM READY FOR IT,” one said.
“I’m just basically counting the days till the baby challenge now. Imagine man like Ovie in the baby challenge people,” another added.
“I need to see the baby challenge on #loveisland soon. Chris and tommy gonna be hilarious,” a third wrote.
It seems this isn’t the only final week challenge fans are looking forward to either. Fans are also calling for the lie detector test and the meet the parents session to come back.
One fan demanded: “They’ve already done a tweets challenge, why are they doing headlines now?? Where is the lie detector? The babies??”
Another said: “After tonight’s episode all I can say is bring on the lie detector test.”
“We need the lie detector test to come out ASAP,” a third added.
“Oh please….Are they doing meet the parents next week!!!!” a fan added.
But, it’s been reported that we may not see Islanders sweat it out during a lie detector test this year.
An ITV source told Metro Online: “A series of top-level meetings have been held over the past few weeks with regard to safety measures and duty of care procedures.
“One of the issues raised was the lie detector. The feeling was, in the wake of the Jeremy Kyle case, bosses must be whiter than white — they cannot mess with people’s emotions.”
Fans were calling for Michael Griffiths, 27, to be questioned by a lie detector after his love triangle with Amber Gill, 21, and Joanna Chimonides, 22.
But, it seems viewers won’t get their wish after Michael was booted out of Sunday night’s show and later admitted he wanted Joanna back , telling The Sun: “Ultimately I am hoping Joanna will take me back, I am hoping that’s the case. “It’s just whether Joanna will speak to me or not.”
