TV presenter Ulrika Jonsson, 51, is set to sign up for I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out of Here.
Ulrika, who announced her split from her husband Brian Monet, 50, earlier this year, is said the be in talks with the show’s bosses to get her into the Aussie jungle.
A source told The Sun On Sunday: “Ulrika has been through a lot in the past few years. And now that she is getting divorced she feels the time is right for a new challenge.
“The Australian jungle certainly fits that description. And she knows that if she signs, it will be the first of many new TV contracts coming her way.
“Ulrika is keen to throw herself back into her presenting work full time and she feels that this could be the right first step for her.
“Meanwhile, ITV bosses think she could be a great fit for the jungle, as she won’t hold back when it comes to getting stuck into the challenges.
“After she spoke so candidly about the break-down of her decade long marriage recently, they also think viewers will find her very relatable.”
The decision would be a U-turn for Ulrika, who said she would never go on the show in 2008.
At the time, she said: “I know it’s a lot of money, and it’s been known to enhance the most paralysed of careers – Myleene Klass – but I don’t like the thought of being stuck in the same rainforest as Robert Kilroy-Snake.”
Ulrika is one of a number of celebs set to rough-it in the I’m A Celeb camp at the end of this year, former EastEnders actress Jacqueline Jossa, 26, is also reportedly set to join the show .
A source told the Daily Star: “Jacqueline will not be appearing in on Celebrity X Factor.
“She did have initial meetings about the possibility but it was decided that things wouldn’t be taken any further.
“As a result she had also sat down with ITV about the prospect of going on I’m A Celeb.”
Other stars set to take on the I’m A Celeb jungle include Danny Dyer, 41, and his daughter Dani, 23, Lucy Fallon, 23, and John Terry, 38.
