Caroline Flack has responded to claims that she awkwardly ignored Francesca Allen after her Aftersun interview.
A clip of Caroline walking past Francesca as she seemingly tried to give the Love Island host a hug has gone viral.
But Caroline has now weighed in on the argument, stating she made her feel “very welcome.”
She tweeted to her 1.9million followers: “As you know … I hate commenting on stuff… I didn’t snub Francesca .. infact quite the opposite .. made her feel very welcome as soon as she got to the studio. [sic]
“I don’t hold grudges.. and the wellbeing of our islanders is important to me. Thought she was a great islander.” [sic]
Caroline’s reunion with Francesca came just weeks after a shock report claimed she once branded the host a “dirty paedo” to her face.
According to The Sun, the Essex beauty hit out at Love Island’s very own presenter back in 2012 when she was dating Harry Styles, who was 17 at the time.
In a tweet obtained by the publication, her friend Paigey Banks wrote: “Highlight of the dayyy seeing Caroline Flack and calling herrr a dirtyy pedo withhhh @francesca_allen hahaha.”
Following the revelation, Francesca finally met with Caroline on the Aftersun sofa – and there was an awkward exchange towards the end of the interview.
As the chat came to a close, Caroline exclaimed to the audience: “Francesca everybody.”
Francesca stood up to give her a hug, but Caroline quickly ran past her to chat to the celebrity panel.
Eagle-eyed fans couldn’t help but comment on what happened, with one writing: “Francesca and Caroline on Aftersun was funny to watch especially when Francesca stood up for what I’m guessing was a hug and then awkwardly sat back down when she didn’t get one- guessing Caroline didn’t forget the comment.”
Love Island continues at 9pm on ITV.
