There’s a design flaw with America’s new supermarket robots

America has started using robots to monitor supermarket aisles – we’re not sure what they’re looking for, and we’re trying not to think about it. If you’re concerned about these AI units taking human jobs, you can probably relax, because real people know how to walk around customers to get on with their work.

And if you’re expecting ‘Westworld’, or ‘Humans’, you might want to dial back on that a little.

That beats an unexpected item in the bagging area. It’s like the bastard offspring of Dusty Bin and those inflatables that flap about outside car showrooms, but less useful than either of those things. Here’s another one, being equally useful.
