Emmerdale stars Matthew Wolfenden and Charley Webb are expecting their third child.
The stars – who play Debbie Dingle and David Metcalfe on the ITV soap – are already parents to Buster, nine, and Bowie, three.
Speaking on Loose Women on Monday, Matthew, 39, revealed that 31 year old Charley’s pregnancy has been “brutal this time around”.
He said: “Charley is a big fan of giving birth, but not pregnancy itself, it’s really odd.
“Unfortunately, pregnancy for her has been brutal this time round. She’s been ill from the get go and is still is sick now.”
The actor also revealed that he and his wife – who married in 2018 – would love to have a baby girl, but admitted that there is a long line of boys in his family.
He said: “We’d love a girl, but you know the old cliche, we just hope for a healthy baby.
“We have a long line of boys in my family, so it’s not looking likely, but who knows!”
It comes after Charley revealed to OK! magazine that she’s been suffering with morning sickness and another medical condition.
She said: “I still get waves of sickness but I’ve also been diagnosed with SPD [symphysis pubis dysfunction, which affects your pelvis and back].
“It’s when your muscles have relaxed too much ready for the birth. It’s agony.”
Matthew and Charley also differ when it comes to the birth of their third child.
Charley said: “Matthew’s up for a home birth but I’d like to be in a hospital for the sake of my own anxiety, in case anything went wrong.”
The actress added of her pregnancy experience: “I’d be lying if I said I really enjoy the experience of getting bigger but I appreciate what my body is doing. I think pregnancy is amazing.”
