The full-length trailer for the Downton Abbey movie has been revealed for the first time.
Fans of the hit ITV period drama will get to see the movie when it arrives in cinemas on 13 September.
Fan favourites Mary Crawley, Violet Crawley, Dowager Countess of Grantham, Thomas Branson and Anna Bates return for the film, which is set in 1927.
The trailer shows Robert Crawley, 7th Earl of Grantham, receiving a letter before announcing that George V and Queen Mary will be visiting Downton Abbey.
With her trademark sarcastic wit, the Dowager Countess of Grantham – played by Maggie Smith – rolls her eyes and says: “Here we go.”
However, the rest of the Grantham family are excited ahead of the royal visit, as are the servants downstairs.
Cook Mrs Patmore is seen fretting over what to cook for the King and Queen, while Phyllis Baxter gets the household shipshape.
The Downton Abbey servants are seen mixing with the royal household when they arrive, with some teething problems along the way.
Meanwhile, romance appears on the horizon for Allen Leech’s Tom Branson and a new maid, played by Tuppence Middleton.
A new famous face joining the cast is Imelda Staunton, who takes on the the role of Lady Bagshaw.
Imelda is married to Jim Carter, who plays beloved butler, Charles Carson.
Joanne Froggatt, who stars as lady’s maid Anna Bates recently opened up about what fans can expect from the film.
Speaking to The Daily Telegraph, the Liar actress said: “Anna is in a really good place.
“She and Mr Bates have a baby boy, now 18 months old. She is passionate about helping Lady Mary with the running of Downton, about keeping the legacy going.”
