Lydia Bright has admitted she “feels sad” for ex James Argent in the midst of his battle with his weight.
The former TOWIE star, who dated James on and off for seven years, hit the headlines last week after branding her former boyfriend an “elephant”.
But Lydia, 29, has now shared her sympathy for the reality TV star, after he bravely opened up on his weight gain before vowing to overhaul his lifestyle.
Speaking to new! magazine, Lydia said: “I do feel bad for him.
“No one wants to see anyone battle wth addiction. It’s a sad thing, not just for him but for everyone around him.”
It comes after Lime Pictures confirmed that James would seemingly exit TOWIE. The company said there are “no plans to film with James at the present time”.
It comes after Lydia came under fire for branding James an “elephant”.
Lydia was discussing her favourite animals when Jamie said an elephant best describes her partner in life.
The TV star replies: “So what it’s an elephant? Big and round. Maybe if I was still with Arg!”
Lydia then giggles before moving on with the questions.
Earlier this month James was warned by resident This Morning doctor, Dr Ranj, that he needs to shed 10 stone.
James responded to the warning, telling viewers: “I’ve done it before so I can do it again. I think whereas before it’s kind of all or nothing. I might walk away from this studio today and all of a sudden I’m near on starving myself and I’m training three times day and it’s all very drastic and quick and I know that isn’t the way of going about it.”
