Prince George is “very popular” at school, according to a parent of one of Prince William’s son’s school friends.

The five year old began school at Thomas’s Battersea in September 2017 and is believed to have made many friends during his time there.

Opening up on the future king’s school life, the parent even revealed the adorable nickname he’s been given.

“Either William or Kate do drop off, and they are always very friendly. William particularly loves to have a chat with some of the parents and he works out with some of the mums at the Harbour Club after drop off. He’s very chatty and amiable.”

According to the publication, Prince George is simply known as “PG” at the £17,000 a year school, which is a nickname thought to also be used by his Royal parents.

The adorable nickname is also believed to have led to him only being referred to as “Tips” when he was a baby.

George’s younger sister, Princess Charlotte, three, will reportedly be joining George at the school this September.

Last month, Kate shocked passersby outside Kensington Palace after collecting George from school.

One Twitter user wrote: “So awkwardly walking up to Kensington Palace not knowing if we should be here, we walk past Kate Middleton.”

A second onlooker added: “I just passed Kate Middleton but couldn’t freak out passing a princess.”

A source previously told MailOnline: “The couple have made a point of doing the school run themselves as much as possible. Indeed, Kate was seen dropping off her son the morning after she gave birth to her third child, Prince Louis.”
