Eamonn Holmes has liked a shady tweet saying Rochelle Humes’ presenting isn’t “natural” on This Morning.
The TV favourite and his wife Ruth Langsford, both 59, have hosted the show each Friday since 2006, and have become a fan favourite among viewers.
But while Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield take time off for Easter, their replacements were revealed as Rochelle Humes and John Barrowman.
However, as much as the Saturdays singer has been praised for her hosting skills, some weren’t too happy with the choice – and Eamonn even bizarrely liked a tweet by a viewer who slammed Rochelle’s presenting as “not natural|”.
The post in question read: “I have absolutely nothing against Rochelle she seems to be a lovely gentle person but for me she’s just not a natural tv presenter.
“For me the most genuine and relatable person and who just oozes natural ease in front of the camera is Eamonn Holmes #ThisMorning.”
Eamonn didn’t defend Rochelle in his reply, instead writing: “God bless you Fiona ….. but I think a lot of people will disagree with you.
“All I try to do is do my homework , be real and pretend there’s no glass screen between you and me.
“I am most complimented that you recognise that. Thank you x.”
The host also liked a string of tweets which branded him “the greatest presenter on TV” and an “inspiration”.
Rochelle was Holly’s replacement when she headed to Australia to host I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! beside Declan Donnelly, and regularly appears on the show if a host is ill.
This Morning is on ITV, weekdays and Sunday mornings at 10:30am.
