A royal insider has denied claims that Meghan Markle has already given birth to her baby.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex sent fans into a frenzy last week by announcing that they would “celebrate the arrival of their baby privately” before sharing the happy news with the world.
Since the announcement that Meghan and Harry won’t publicly announce when the Duchess gives birth, some have speculated that the child has already arrived.
A source also revealed to New Idea magazine: “There’s all sorts of talk in royal circles that Meghan and Harry have already had the baby.
“No one would be surprised if they had – after all, they’re such a private couple and have never done anything by the books.”
The Queen’s former aide has shut down the claims, saying the public needs to “hold their horses” and wait for Harry and Meghan’s announcement.
Dickie Arbiter said: “If you believe that, you’d believe anything. We’ll know in due course when the baby is born.
“Harry and Meghan made it very clear the birth is going to be private.”
He added: “There aren’t going to be any advance notices and they will release any details once they’ve had time to bond with the baby. The birth will come as they said, in late April, early May, and we just need to hold our horses until then.”
It comes after the couple announced they would be keeping the details of Megan’s birth private, and will celebrate their new arrival as a family before telling the world that the Duchess has given birth.
A statement read: “The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are very grateful for the goodwill they have received from people throughout the United Kingdom and around the world as they prepare to welcome their baby.
“Their Royal Highnesses have taken a personal decision to keep the plans around the arrival of their baby private. The Duke and Duchess look forward to sharing the exciting news with everyone once they have had an opportunity to celebrate privately as a new family.”
