Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have referenced their baby for the first time, sparking a meltdown among royal fans of the couple.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, who are set to welcome their first child together in a matter of days, referred to the little one as “Baby Sussex” in a new post shared to their Instagram account.
The couple shared a photo of themselves on the account as they thanked fans for donating to charities instead of sending gifts.

Just one week ago, The Duke and Duchess of Sussex asked that you kindly consider supporting various organisations around the world in lieu of sending gifts for the upcoming arrival of their first born. Not only did many of you lend your support, you took action. Their Royal Highnesses wanted you to know the impact of your support – the direct effect your donation, energy, and action made! YOU chose to be part of the collective good, and you have a made a real difference. Whether a $5 donation, £1000 contribution, offering to volunteer, or spreading the word – you’ve played your part. And on behalf of The Duke and Duchess (and Baby Sussex), we thank you so much. It comes after the couple announced they would be keeping the details of Megan’s birth private, and will celebrate their new arrival as a family before telling the world that the Duchess has given birth.
A statement read: “The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are very grateful for the goodwill they have received from people throughout the United Kingdom and around the world as they prepare to welcome their baby.
“Their Royal Highnesses have taken a personal decision to keep the plans around the arrival of their baby private.
“The Duke and Duchess look forward to sharing the exciting news with everyone once they have had an opportunity to celebrate privately as a new family.”
This means the Duchess will likely not pose for a photo outside hospital after giving birth, and the hospital in which she has chosen will likely not be announced.
It was previously claimed that 37-year-old Meghan was favouring a home birth after leaving Kensington Palace for Windsor and moving into Frogmore Cottage with husband Harry.
A friend of Meghan has revealed that she has “sailed” through her pregnancy and “sees no reason” why she shouldn’t deliver her baby in the privacy of her own home.
The source told MailOnline: “It is her favoured choice. But obviously depends on how things are nearer to the time.”
