Olivia Attwood has posted an emotional tribute to Mike Thalassitis, following his tragic passing aged 26.
The Love Island star, nicknamed Muggy Mike, was found dead in a woodland near his home in Essex on Friday. As of yet, a cause of death has not been confirmed.
Olivia famously grew close to Mike during her time in the villa, and was in a love triangle between the footballer and Chris Hughes – which became one of the most standout moments of the whole series.
Alongside a picture of her and Mike, Olivia wrote on her Instagram page: “Literally don’t know what to say.
“Another one gone too young. Thinking of Mike’s family and friends at this horrendous time. You will be missed terribly.”
It was claimed that Mike only recently lost his beloved nan, who he had moved in with to become her full-time carer.
The Sun’s Dan Wootton revealed Mike’s heartache online following the passing of his nan, writing: “He was a good man and this is an atrocious waste of a young life.
“I spoke to Mike (who loved that I would still call him Muggy) on Thursday.
“He was grieving the loss of his nan.
“She was 94 and he had moved in to live with her because she needed a full-time carer. He assured me he was fine and was excited about the launch of his shop.
“There was so much in store for his future that this is truly senseless.
“Mike wasn’t the lad you saw on Love Island. He was tender and sensitive and vulnerable and desperate for true love. Rest in peace, mate. I will miss you.”
Mike’s manager confirmed the tragic news of his death, while a source told OK! online: “It’s true. We have lost our dear brother Mike.”
