The Chase star Paul Sinha has announced his engagement after proposing to his boyfriend.

The quiz star, 48, announced the happy news over social media, revealing that his other half accepted his romantic proposal.

Paul, known as The Sinnerman on the ITV quiz show, took to Twitter to write: “I proposed today. He said yes. Thus starts yet another diet.”

Paul was flooded with congratulatory messages on social media, with one fan of the show joking: “Congratulations! For you the chase is over.”

The star revealed he was in a relationship last year, telling GuysLikeU: “I am happy with a boyfriend.

“We are in an open relationship, but can’t say more than that.”

He added: “One of the advantages of being gay is that there is no traditional template for how you are meant to engage with your partner.

“Hetero relationships are supposedly based on the idea of procreation and offering a loving environment for your children, therefore by definition would mean monogamy.

“Being gay we can make our own template that works for us.”

Paul also claimed that the The Chase had removed remarks he made on the show about his sexuality.

“I assumed everyone knew I was gay,” Paul commented. “I have been on the show for six years and I have made lots of references to being gay. 

“But they mysteriously never made the edit,” the quiz champion continued, saying he thinks it is because producers want to avoid it ‘becoming a thing’.
