Police Chief Jim Hopper and his dance moves will be back this summer.
On New Year’s Eve, while you were busy celebrating, Netflix snuck in an announcement that Season 3 of hit series “Stranger Things” will return on July 4th.
The show, which features a group of plucky young friends and long-suffering adults in a 1980s Indiana town beset by government conspiracies, is reportedly the most popular streaming series (despite Netflix’s lack of viewership data).
Set in 1984, Season 3 will see the return of the show’s award winning cast, including David Harbour as Chief Hopper, Winona Ryder as Joyce Byers, and Millie Bobby Brown as Eleven.
The upcoming season is also adding several new cast members, including Cary Elwes of “The Princess Bride” fame, who’s playing a sleazy ’80s politician, and Maya Hawke (daughter of Ethan and Uma Thurman), who’s joining the show as a new friend (and maybe more) for the perpetually well-coiffed Steve (Joe Keery).
So mark your calendars. The Upside Down returns, appropriately, on Independence Day.
