Dalton Harris was crowned the winner of The X Factor 2018 on Saturday, beating Anthony Russell and Scarlet Lee to the title.
The singer would have been on top of the world as Dermot O’Leary announced the Jamaican born singer had won but now it seems the star’s future in the UK is uncertain.
Speaking to The Sun, Dalton said: “I need to get a new visa. I will have to leave the UK for a bit as you’re not allowed to just stay forever.
He added: “Hopefully my visa will be sorted out quickly.”
Upon winning, Dalton has spoken out in an interview with Lorraine Kelly on the advice his mentor, Louis Tomlinson had given him to boost his confidence.
“Louis is the one who has said be yourself, stand for who you are.
“People say I am not confident, but I am laid back.
“I did struggle because I thought am I even good enough to be here, why am I here, man I’m too quiet.”
He continued: “Am I not TV enough, what is it? I’m not bubbly enough?
“But he [Louis] said no you are you, so I found my artistry with him.”
The winner broke down in tears of joy as he won the series, with mentor Louis, who had two acts in the final, the first to cheer him on.
As host Dermot O’Leary congratulated him, he was lost for words while his fellow contestants applauded him.
