Deal or No Deal host Noel Edmonds was announced as the first celebrity to be booted off I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! – despite turning up late, and being the most expensive campmate the show has ever seen.
Noel, 69, was forced to say his goodbyes after just 10 days in camp and a stint as Emperor, before leaving their base Down Under to be reunited with wife Liz.
However, the popular host – who claimed he would retire from showbiz if he won the show – didn’t look too upset as he headed back to the glamorous five-star Palazzo Versace on Australia’s Gold Coast, a short drive away from the I’m A Celebrity camp.
Noel, who is said to have bagged a whopping £600,000 to take part in the show, looked in incredibly high spirits after his shock elimination, as he joined his wife at the lavish hotel where he was greeted by an abundance of well-wishers.
Still dressed in camp attire, Noel flashed a huge smile at the camera as he finally was able to greet Harry Redknapp’s beloved with Sandra for the first time, alongside other campmate’s friends and family members.
He was told his fate on Friday night’s show by show hosts Holly Willoughby and Declan Donnelly.
After learning of the sad news, which came after a number of stars had secured immunity in the previous Rancid Race task, they said: “Are we supposed to look disappointed?”
They added: “It’s been great. It’s been really, really terrific.”
The hosts said it was between Rita Simons and the Deal or No Deal presenter who would be kicked out, after they polled the lowest amount of public votes.
After walking across the bridge to the Aussie studio, Noel said he was “humbled and proud” to be a part of the ITV reality series.
Noel told how he was excited to be reunited with his wife, Liz, but how it was tinged with disappointment.
He later tipped former The X Factor star Fleur East to win the series.
