Romanticism is a historical movement that still hugely colours how we tend to feel and look at the world: it’s responsible for the way we approach love, nature, business and children. This is its history. If you like our films take a look at our shop (we ship worldwide):

Excellent video, but object to what you said about how "romantics don't believe in God". To clarify, many romantics (Coleridge, etc.) DOD believe in God, but rejected the established church and "religion", seeing it as hypocritical.
Many argue that the character of Werther is actually a criticism of excessive emotion. Goethe was frustrated with the popularity of the novel…
Just to say: Rousseau was not Swiss, but rather "Genevois" , that is citizen of the city of Geneve, which at the time was not part of Switzerland.
Nice William Blake reference at the end.
????
Doing an assignment for Frankenstein lmaooo
So romantics are the people who can’t function in capitalistic society because they’re too busy dreaming….
I feel personally targeted
It's interesting that you should end with the hope for "an age of maturity." Man's self-styled emergence into "maturity" based on reason is the central idea behind Kant's conception of the Enlightenment. And the entire Romantic movement opposed itself to the Enlightenment.
Well done. But I'm curious as to how Blake and Mary Shelly got left out.
It was all good until 3:01. That was blasphemous!
Romantics don't believe in God ? Really !? Romantics not only believed in God but they had a religious spirit. To be a Romantic you had to be religious. Coleridge was a theologian and spoke passionately about God and His love. Sure some of the Romantics did not care about Religion but to say flatly that they didn't believe in God is a complete lie.
Amy Winehouse a romantic hero ? Jesus ! You can't remotely associate Byron (an authentic romantic hero) with Winehouse…
Any thoughts on Lord Byron? Anyone? Would appreciate it.

Rousseau throws out his own five children, then preaches to others about how children ought to be raised… ?
Très interessant
I'm such a romantic. I would rehearse my poetry around the house as a very small child. Wear long sheets, and pretend they were beautiful Victorian ball gowns. I practiced kissing across the top of my hand, and dramatic movie scenes. Lol
,,Romantics dont believe in God ? How could you mess it up so badly ?
Thanks
I was the king of the romantic era, and I mostly traveled all my life.
Was that put in there
The voice of the narrator and the speed are perfect!
what's the name of the painting at 0:20?
No. Romanticism started later. Goethe never was a romantic! Sorrow of young Werther is Sturm und Drang, not romantic. Romanticism came after Classic which came after Sturm und Drang
Everyone who sees this message look into offgrid homesteads.. That basically answers the question at the end. It's ideology combines modern technology with the romantist views & appreciation of nature.
why must i be a romantic ???♂️
Personally, I love the "Age of Maturity." As I've been watching documentaries this morning on the different ages, it seems each one was a reaction to the imperfection of the one before. Why not take the best of all?
