I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!’s Harry Redknapp locked horns with Nick Knowles as tension reached its peak during Friday’s immunity challenge.
The former Tottenham Hotspur boss took issue with Nick’s decision to take on the bulk of challenges for his team in the Rancid Race trial, branding him as only playing for personal safety in the show, as opposed to camp grub.
Prior to the clash, series host Declan Donnelly said: “Today you’re all competing in the Rancid Races, there are five races, at the start of each one the rangers will bring out four identical drinks and put them on the podiums in front of us.
“We will tell you what’s in the drinks and you will then decide between yourselves who will take on the challenge.”
Co presenter Holly Willoughby, 37, continued: “The four chosen celebrities will then go head to head in the drinking race, the first person to finish their drink and put their empty glass back on the podium will win a point for their team – there’s no points for 2nd, 3rd or 4th place.
“As this is a team event, you must all attempt one drink.”
The final leader board was Galahs (6), Roos (5), Koalas (4) and The Underdogs (3), meaning The Underdogs – comprised of Noel Edmonds and Rita Simons – would definitely face the public vote.
Holly asked the Galahs if they were happy they were not facing the public vote, to which DIY SOS host Nick said “Yeah, that’s nice and I feel bad for The Underdogs with only two people having to drink all those drinks but we’re very pleased to go from bottom to top in one go.”
Dec added “Roos and Koalas, you will both still have a chance for immunity later on today with more details in a little while.”
This meant while the BBC One presenter was safe for another day, Harry’s fate hung in the balance.
During a task de-brief Harry raged Nick was only concerned with immunity, not securing food for camp, the other outcome of the trial.
The 71 year old said “All this cobblers about we don’t care who wins is a load of cobblers. Now let’s all be honest with each other, it’s now dog eats dog otherwise why would Nick go three times when he knows he can’t lose, when really it should have been 2, 2, 1.”
Nick looked at Harry and replied: “Cause I wanted a meal tonight.”
This prompted Harry to add: “Nah, I think you wanted immunity.” Nick disagreed and said: “I wanted a meal.”
Harry said: “This is the man who goes to the rugby club and drinks pints of beer for fun, how you going to beat him. We may have not bothered drinking that s***, let him win.”
He continued: “Yeah but he wouldn’t go 3 times, he’d go 2, 2, 1 that’s what should have happened, I would have stuck Fleur in 3 times.
“Listen let’s not kid ourselves, when the crunch comes everyone will be walking all over each other because that’s what you wanna do. Everyone wants to win, let’s not kid ourselves.”
I’m A Celebrity airs every night on ITV.
