The Spice Girls have spoken out on Victoria Beckham joining them on tour and revealed that they did not invite her to take the stage with them.
Speaking on The Jonathon Ross Show, Geri Horner, Emma Bunton, Mel B and Mel C opened up that they did not extend the tour invitation to David Beckham’s wife – as they know that the pop star come fashion designer has no urge to pick up the microphone again.
Mel C said to the charming host: “Do you know what is actually quite funny… I saw Victoria recently and obviously we’ve all been in contact, she is still very much a part of the Spice Girls, she really supports us and we really support her. But she did raise the point that she was never actually asked. We just presumed.”
Geri contributed: “I spoke to her two days ago, before the announcement and she has said it for years that she just doesn’t want to do it anymore, so we knew that.
Adding: “She just didn’t want to do it… She was busy with her fashion and she has moved on. The philosophy of us lot is that we are a band, on and off the stage and we care for each other, we support each other and we support her and she has been a huge part of our lives and we care about her so it’s all good.”
The girl band admitted that Posh Spice does not enjoy performing and therefore they did not want to put her in an awkward position by asking her to join.
Geri said: “No [she didn’t] and you don’t want to make somebody do something they don’t want to do.”
Emma jumped in: “We realised that a while back that she didn’t enjoy that so much.”
The foursome shed a light on Victoria’s thoughts on the tour, admitting she had given them her blessing for the reunion tour and that they all agree she is welcome to join for a date or two.

Mel B was also quizzed by Wossy on her taking a swipe at Victoria with her shocking Halloween costume that mocked her former band mate.
She explained: “I just have a northern sense of humour and it’s very tongue in cheek and I really enjoyed being Victoria for the night.”
The Jonathan Ross Show is on Saturday at 10:05pm on ITV.
