Supermarket giant Asda has become the first supermarket in the UK to venture into the pizza delivery market.
Collaborating with Just Eat, Asda will offer shoppers in Killingbeck, Bestow, Livingston, and Wakefield the chance to try the new service.
All the pizzas are made in store at Asda’s Diner Kitchen and can include a wide range of toppings.
And the good news doesn’t stop there as the pizza’s price tag is significantly lower than other pizza delivery services.
Every 16inch pizza – no matter the toppings – will cost just £6.
James Ainger, Asda’s Senior Buying Manager, said: “We are really excited to be trialling this new service in our store in Killingbeck, along with plans to roll out to three more stores later this month. We know our customers love Asda pizzas and now they can have them delivered to their doorstep.”
It’s not the first time Asda has delighted shoppers with its pizzas – customers were left flocking to stores to get their hands on the Halloween Monster Meltdown Pizza when it was released this year.
Customers based in the four West Yorkshire towns will have to place orders via the Just Eat app – which then sends the order directly to the Asda store.
The pizza is then freshly cooked and delivered directly door-to-door.
There’s also a special meal deal which includes four sides, a drink, a dessert, and dips as well as the pizza for just £15.
Asda’s delivery service will be available from lunch time in the selected trial stores.
