Ariana Grande’s fans have sent her beautiful messages of support after a difficult few months, specifically following the death of her ex-boyfriend Mac Miller.
Mac died at the age of 26 from an accidental overdose on 7 September this year.
Prior to his passing he had dated songstress Ariana, 25, for almost two years, before the pair confirmed they were parting ways in May 2018.
He had become a support for her in the aftermath of the Manchester Arena terror attack that claimed the lives of 22 people at her concert, and joined her on stage at her One Love Manchester benefit concert in June 2017.
Just one month before his death, Mac had recorded a Facebook live for all of his fans – and beautifully, Ariana’s music was the background of the video, despite the pair no longer being romantically involved.
“Hey @ArianaGrande here’s a video of @MacMiller listening to R.E.M during his Instagram live from August 9th before it was released. We had to stan the best song from Sweetener!” a fan wrote to Ariana, alongside the video of Mac hearing her song.
In a heartbreaking response, Ariana – who recently ended her engagement with Pete Davidson – responded: “He is supposed to be here.”
Fans in their masses shared the love for Ariana following her post, with one writing: “He is smiling down at you and is so very proud of you. he loves u angel.”
“He is. it may not be physical but I swear he’s watching down on you. I know grief and loss all too well but you’re doing incredible baby. he’d b SO proud,” another wrote, while a third added: “He is so proud of you, i hope you know.”
It comes after the God Is A Woman singer posted a heartbreaking tribute to the rapper following his passing.
“I adored you from the day i met you when i was nineteen and I always will,” her tribute read. “I can’t believe you aren’t here anymore. i really can’t wrap my head around it.
“We talked about this. so many times. i’m so mad, i’m so sad i don’t know what to do. You were my dearest friend. for so long. above anything else. i’m so sorry i couldn’t fix or take your pain away.
“I really wanted to. the kindest, sweetest soul with demons he never deserved. i hope you’re okay now. rest”.
